Journal Assignment Two-Step Equations
Name: Robert Mattei
T-mobile charges $34.99 a month for phone service. They also charge $0.48 per minute for long distance calls. If Joshua's bill was $64.75, how many minutes of long distance calls did she make?
Part A - Write an equation that can be used to solve the problem.
Equation: $34.99 • 0.48¢m - $64.75
Part B - Solve your equation and answer the question in a complete
sentence. $34.99
1) • 0.48
-------------1,679.52 - $64.75 =
2) 1,679.52
- 64.75
----------------------
1,614.77
She made about 1,614.77 minutes of her long distance of her cell phone.
Because first I created an equation of $34.99 • .48¢.
And it gave me 1,679.52. Then I did the next part of the Equation which was
1,614.77. So, probably it would be 1,614.77 minutes.
